Proper washing and ironing are key to maintaining sweater shape and longevity. Here’s a detailed guide for different scenarios.

For washing, first check the care label. Wool or cashmere sweaters are best hand-washed: use neutral detergent (avoid bleach), soak in 30℃ warm water for 5-10 minutes, gently press (don’t rub), then squeeze water without twisting. Machine-washing requires a "wool cycle" and a laundry bag. Cotton or blended sweaters can be machine-washed on a gentle cycle, but turn them inside out to prevent pilling.

When ironing, adjust temperature based on material. Set iron to "wool" mode (140℃-160℃) for wool sweaters, and "cotton" mode (160℃-180℃) for cotton ones. Always use a damp cloth between the iron and sweater to avoid scorching. For delicate fabrics like cashmere, use the "steam" function and keep the iron 2-3cm away. Never iron dry sweaters directly—moisten them slightly first.

Note: Lay sweaters flat to dry (avoid hanging to prevent stretching). Reshape while damp for better results.
